After a while these patients find out, that this does not work. That is due to the fact, that by hanging from a horizontal bar they elongate their arms instead of elongating their spine.
Furthermore you cannot hang from a horizontal bar for a longer space of time, that is unless you are really strong, and you definitely cannot relax while hanging from it. So on the whole one can see that a horizontal bar is far from being effective.
